Parenting 911 - CPR for Parents
(our workshop for parents of teens)
We are so excited about the opportunities ahead for sharing our new parenting workshops! Through the use of PowerPoint, video and drama, attendees will experience an inside look at the real world in which their teens live. Also, they will receive practical advice about handling the everyday conflicts and decisions that come with parenting teens. It is our desire that when parents leave our workshop, they will have a renewed confidence in the things they're doing well, tools for improving their effectiveness as parents of teens and also a greater understanding of their own child so that their relationship can be more meaningful.
- We share with them details of how different the world is now from when we were teenagers.
- We give them an overview of the consequences of teen sex including: emotional, physical, social, mental, financial etc.
- Parents see examples of how the message from "the world" that sex outside of marriage is without consequence etc.
- We give parents tips for communicating with their kids more effectively.
- Parents learn the importance of being consistent with their discipline and we give them examples of "House Rules" and appropriate consequences for breaking rules.
- Parents hear about the benefits of communicating well with the parents of their teenager's friends.
- Parents leave the workshop with handouts that are practical tools for helping to talk to their kids and we emphasize that the parents have such influence on their teenagers- if they will just use it.
This is written as a 2 hour workshop where parents leave feeling better equipped to deal with their teenagers. It can be longer or shorter to fit your needs.

Groups can be as small as 10 or as big as 500! The fee for the program is negligible and also negotiable depending upon the circumstance.
